Chakra is a Sanskrit word that means “wheel,” referring to the spinning flow of energy coming from the center of the body. There are seven main chakras, which start at the base of the spine and run upwards to the crown of the head, and each spins energy that corresponds to major organs and nerves. When chakras are balanced and open, life feels more meaningful, relationships are more fulfilling, actions and communication come from a place of greater purpose and authenticity, and physical being thrives.
Signs Your Chakras Might Be
Blocked or Restricted
Body aches, muscle and joint pain, or frequent headaches.
Problems with digestive or respiratory systems.
Anxiety, feelings of uncertainty, or insecurity.
Inability to let go of objects, past relationships, memories, or outdated beliefs.
Feeling stuck or unable to progress in life.
Low energy or sluggishness.
Why Do Chakras Need Balancing?
Sometimes the energy flowing from one or more chakra becomes blocked. Blockages can be physical, emotional or psychological, spiritual, karmic, or energetic, caused by stress, emotional upheavals, unwanted circumstances, poor diet and exercise habits, bad lifestyle choices (like working too much or not getting enough sleep), physical or psychological trauma, or mental illness. Like a traffic jam caused by a blocked road, chakras do not work at optimal levels when the energy flow is not open. As chakras begin opening, the release of energy experienced can cause life-changing shifts in relationships and decision-making patterns.
How to Balance or Unblock Chakras
Practices such as aromatherapy, yoga, breathing exercises for improving energy flow, and meditation are great ways to realign and open chakras.
